A remote control sliding gate gives you the security of a full sliding gate with the convenience of opening it from your vehicle. Press the fob as you pull up and the gate slides clear, no getting out in the rain, no leaving the car to unlock a chain. It is the setup most people want on a driveway or commercial entry that sees regular traffic.
How it works
The gate runs on the same tracked or cantilever system as a manual sliding gate, with a motor and control unit added. A remote fob operates it from the car, and it can be paired with keypad or intercom entry for visitors so you are not handing out fobs to everyone. Safety sensors are fitted as standard on powered gates so the gate stops if something is in its path, and a timer can auto-close it after each entry so it is never accidentally left open.
Built to the entry
Every gate is fabricated to the opening. We build wide, from small residential driveways up to large commercial entries, the example pictured is a 13.5 m by 2.1 m fully automated sliding gate, and match the frame, rail and finish to the fence line it sits in. Galvanised or powder-coated construction handles years of outdoor use and daily cycling.
What we plan for
- Power, a powered gate needs an electrical connection at the entry. Where power is limited we can advise on a solar option.
- Surface and clearance, tracked gates suit level ground, cantilever suits uneven surfaces or entries prone to debris.
- Access mix, fob, keypad and intercom can be combined so residents, staff and visitors each get the right level of access.
- Approval, gate height and proximity to a road or shared boundary can trigger council requirements, and we will flag it before we quote.
Keeping it running
Automated gates want the odd check, clearing debris from the track on a tracked gate, keeping moving parts lubricated, and a periodic look over the motor and locks. We walk you through the maintenance after install so the gate keeps cycling smoothly.
