A good cricket net lets you train hard in a controlled space: it contains the ball, cuts the time chasing deliveries, and keeps players and passers-by safe. What they are for
Cricket nets suit bowling and batting practice, coaching drills, and creating a dedicated training zone on a multi-use field. They turn up at cricket clubs, school grounds, university ovals, council parks and private academies. Each system is built as a permanent structure or a removable one, depending on how often it is used and how the ground is shared.
Frame and netting
We use galvanised steel posts and support rails with heavy-duty chainwire or synthetic mesh netting. Typical builds include:
- Two-lane or three-lane batting nets
- Galvanised or powder-coated posts
- Top and side framing with bracing
- Internal netting fixed at the corners and base
- Optional divider nets between lanes
- Retractable nets where the space needs to open up between sessions
Base preparation can be arranged or coordinated with a surfacing contractor for synthetic turf or a hard wicket.

Access and gates
Access can be fixed or flexible: swing gates for front or rear entry, lockable gates to keep the nets secure off-hours, removable mesh panels for multi-use grounds, and netting sleeves or tie-backs for adjustable entry. Hardware is chosen for weather and frequency of use.
Installation
We assess the site and check the ground, mark the frame layout and set posts in concrete footings, assemble and brace the frame, fix and tension the netting, then hang gates and inspect. We coordinate with clubs, schools and councils to work around access and safety controls.
Maintenance and repairs
Net tension wants the odd adjustment over a season, loose fittings resecured, and any damaged section patched or replaced, netting can be replaced without pulling out the whole frame. We also repair existing cricket nets and fence-mounted mesh.
